Statement of Faith

God

God created everything and also keeps everything (heaven and earth) in balance. He is eternal, which means He has no beginning or end. Inthe Bible He is known as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 3:16–17; John 1:1-2; Acts 2:32–33)

Jesus

Jesus lives in eternity in relationship in God as the Son. We believe that Jesus came to earth through God’s servant, Mary, who was a virgin. The reason He came to earth was to live a sinless life which allowed Him to make the ultimate sacrice for sin on the cross. After three days in the tomb He rose and is alive today at the right hand of God the Father. (Colossians 2:9; Luke 1:30-35; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; 2 Corinthians 5:21)

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is all over the Bible, but in the New Testament He is known as a Comforter, a Helper, and He is the agent through which people are convicted of sin and righteous living. He is given to each Christian and also helps each believer use whatever gifts He has given. (John 16:8; Acts 2:38; Ephesians 1:13-14)

The Bible

The Bible is actually made up of 66 different books, written by various authors over a vast time period. In spite of all of that it is extremely accurate and consistent in its message. We believe that although it was written by men, it was inspired to be written by God the Spirit and as such it is true and accurate in its writing and transmission through the ages. The Bible is meant to be read so that it can transform your life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Us

The dirty truth is that we sin…all of us sin. Because we are sinners we need help from heaven. That help came through God the Son, Jesus Christ when He took our penalty for sin (death) by dying for us on the cross. We now get to live with each other in God’s perfect plan, the Church. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23, 6:23; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 1)

THE SEPARATION

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23.)

THE RECONCILIATION / SALVATION

We belief that the basis of our salvation is by Grace, a gift that we cannot earn (Ephesians 2:8-9.) And that the means of our salvation is through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9.) We then believe that due to Jesus making that possible there is a response to that salvation made possible through the cross.

We believe that we are forgiven of our sins and we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit when we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, repent of our sins, confess Jesus as Lord, and are immersed in water, baptized into Christ (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, 22:16, 1 Peter 3:21, Romans 6:3, Galatians 3:26-27). It is then that we become Christians and are added to the church of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:24.)
